All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Duke, Forgery, Davis, Owen, McCain James Walker Duke, 77, of Reydon, OK, was born to Thomas Jefferson and Texie Mae Duke May 26, 1907 in the Sandstone community of oger Mills County and passed from this life Saturday May 26, 1984 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital of Cheyenne. He attended school at Carpenter. On September 21, 1921 Mr. Duke was married to Opal Forgery who preceded him in death in 1960. They had moved to Fort Supply, OK. in 1954 where he was employed as a Nurses; Aide with the hospital there. On December 24, 1969 he and Mamie Davis were married in Woodward. In 1974 they moved to Cheyenne and to Reydon in 1983. Those who preceded him in death were his parents, first wife, one brother and one sister. Survivors include his wife Mamie of the home, one daughter Oneta Owen of reydon; 2 sons, Billy Walker (Ike) Duke of Reydon, James J. Duke of Dalhart, TX; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; 1 sister Mrs. Jewel McCain of Amarillo, TX and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 7, 1984 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Reydon with Eddie Overstreet officiating. Interment followed in the White Rose Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne.
