Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 29, 1974 at 2:30 p.m. in the Cheyenne First Baptist Church, with Rev. Fred Fudge officiating. Interment was in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son in charge. Born September 30, 1911 at Elk City, Oklahoma, Mr. Dykes came to Cheyenne with his parents when a child. He was a World War II veteran serving as a Sgt. in the USAF. Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Dewey of Cheyenne and Mrs. Bessie Conway of Raymond, Washington; a niece, Mrs. Sylvia Bandy of Santo, Texas and many other nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Ted Bright, Emmett Morris, Howard Beavin, Wesley Conway, Manford Bonds, and Raymond Blair. Honorary Pallbearers were Robert Cogburn and Paul Beavin.
