ELIZA JANE (HALL) DYKES Mrs. Eliza DYKES, housewife of Hammon, died Thursday from burns received in an accident in her home a month ago. She was standing by an open gas stove when her clothing caught fire, inflicting third degree burns. She was taken to the North Plains hospital at Borger, and removed to the Clinton hospital about a week ago, where she died Thursday. She was born March 18, 1873 in Carter county, KY., and married Henry Clay DYKES March 18, 1893 at Carter, KY. He preceded her in death in 1933 near Hammon. They came here in 1898 and homesteaded near Hammon, where she lived until her death. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness church. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Pentecostal Holin- church at Hammon, with Albert TRENT, HOBART, and Rev. EZELL, pastor of the Hammon church, officiating. Burial will be at Kiowa, with Martin-Hullum in charge of arrangements. Survivors include six children, Rubin DYKES, Samoa, Cal.; Mrs. Hannah BENDER, Arcada, Cal.; Bob DYKES, Vancouver, Wash.; Mrs. Ella McWHORTER, Amarillo; Ted DYKES, Borger, and Clay DYKES, Skellytown, Tex. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Three sons and three daughters preceded her in death.
