All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Douglas, Dykes, Habeck, Mitchell Last rites were held at 2':30 p.m. Friday for John Wesley Douglas, retired farmer and rancher who died Wednesday, December 24, 1952 at his home in Reydon, at the Reydon community building. He was born August 30, 1865 in Homewood, Kansas and waas mrried March 17, 1887 to Laura L. Dkyes in Missouri. He came to western Oklahoma in 1906 and homesteaded eight miles east of Reydon and has lived there since that time. He was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Habeck and Mrs. Vada Mitchell, both of Reydon; four sons, Claud Douglas, Sacramento, Calif., Irs Douglas of Reydon, Earl Douglas of Depew, Oklahoma and Leonard Douglas of Silver City, New Mexico; one brother, Webb Douglas of Neodesha, Kansas; 26 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. His wife and one son preceded him in death. The Rev. J.L. Davis and the Rev. Horace Woodard officiated at the services. Casketbearers were Jerry Harrison, Arch Culver, Ely Clay and Nealy Yowell. Burial was in the White Rose cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Moore Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
