The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Marvin Carl "Pink" Dixon, son of Dudley Dixon and Inez Dixon Cox, was born October 18, 1904 near Reason, Ellis County, Oklahoma. He passed from this life December 2, 1982 in Woodward Memorial Hospital, Woodward, Oklahoma at the age of seventy-eight years. Pink Dixon loved the land on which he was born and this land upon which his cattle roamed and grazed remained his home throughout his lifetime. He entered the service of his Country in 1942, serving in the Army Branch of the Service from July 1942 until April of 1943. After receiving his honorable discharge as an Army Private, he returned to his home in Ellis County and continued with his chosen work of ranching. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spent much of his leisure time enjoying these chose hobbies. Mr. Dixon was a helpful friend and neighbor and will be missed by his loved ones and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Inez Cox Dixon, one brother, Alvin Dickson and four step-brothers; Marvin Cox, Jim, Emery and Leslie Cox. He is survived by one brother, Melba Dickson of Arnett, and two sisters, Iva Alderson of Yates Center, Kansas, and Beulah Walters of Wichita, Kansas; three nieces, Lorraine Freeman of Fargo, Wynola Evans and Pauline Williams both of Amarillo, Texas, and one nephew, Charles (Shorty) Shahan of Yates Center, Kansas, other relatives and many friends. Services were held at the First United Methodist Church, Arnett, Oklahoma, Saturday December 4, 1962 at 2:00 p.m. with Don Hull officiating. Pallbearers were Buck Caldwell, Monte Compton, Bob Freeman, Marshall Murphy, Rich Patterson and Bub Wagnon. Services were conducted by the DeBolt Cemetery, Arnett, Oklahoma.
