He was 82. He was born June 4, 1911, to Dahl Garfield and Lillian Mae Snyder DeGeer in St. Louis, Missouri. He grew up and attended school in Oklahoma. He was married to Frances M. Wilson on December 24, 1933. They moved to Dundee in 1943, and later moved to Newberg. He worked in the timber industry and was a custodian for the Newberg School District prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Newberg First Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading and watching television. He and his wife would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this month. Survivors include his wife, Frances; sons James DeGeer of Tigard and George DeGeer of Gaston; and daughters Lettie King of Newberg, Barbara Lowe of LaVerne, California and Bonnie Beaudoin, California. Services were held Thursday at Attrell;s Newberg chapel with the Rev. Mike Ruptak officiating. Interment was at Valley View Memorial Park in Newberg.
