He passed away February 12, 2007 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 12 days. Oliver attended school at Merritt and was married to Susan Faye Goodin in October of 1933. To this union 5 children were born, Patricia Ann, Jerry, Elaine, Edward and Leta Jan. They lived in El Reno, Texas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he retired as a truck driver and received a safety award for his driving. After Faye passed away he moved to Oklahoma and began helping his brother Everett on the farm. He was married to Josephine (Brothers) Roark at the Methodist Church on June 30, 1990 and they continued to make Cheyenne their home. Oliver was a mason and also served s President of the Senior Citizens in Cheyenne until he had to resign because of health reasons. He was a membere of the Cheyenne United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 son, Jerry, 1 daughter, Elaine, 3 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mary and Ada, and 1 brother, Everett. Survivors are his wife Josephine, of the home; 7 children Ann Bannister and husband Harry of Columbus, GA; Edward Daugherty and wife Vickie, of Baton Rouge, LA.; Jan Shaheen and husband John, of Denver, CO.; Carrol Stamper and husband Eugene, Dwayne Roark and wife Juhretta; Nancy Cook and husband Danny; Deryl Roark and wife, Lawana, all of Cheyenne, OK; 1 son-in-law John Caudle, of Tennessee; 1 daughter-in-law Marza Daugherty, of Colorado Springs, CO; 32 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother Robert Daugherty of Amarillo, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held February 16, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Cheyenne United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Fernando Padilla, Jr. Burial will be at Cheyenne Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Cheyenne.
