John Riley Dooty, 79, of 2055 SW 45, died Wednesday in Lebanon, following an apparent heart attack. Services were in Capitol Hill Church of God, South Harvey, with Rev. Chesnut conducting the services. Burial was in Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, Oklahoma. Mr. Dooty was born in Independence, Kansas and moved to Oklahoma City in 1925 from Cheyenne. He was a retired metal finisher, and former pastor of the Church of God in Liberal, Kansas. A World War I veteran, Mr. Dooty served as interim minister at several churches. He as a member of American Legion Post 35, and Capitol Hill Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Lula, of the home; one son, F. Riley, Phoenix, Arizona; one twin brother, Jess W. Cheyenne, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
