All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Dooty, Muncy, Damaris, Jencks, Davidson Jesse Dooty was born July 26, 1896 in Independence, Kansas to eliza Damaris and Rev. John William Dooty and died Sunday in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital at the age of l00. Jesse moved with his parents near Clinton in 1903. They later moved and homesteaded north of Grimes before moving to the Herring community east of Cheyenne in 1912. Jesse served his country during World War I. On December 25, 1925, he married Fern Laura Muncy in Clinton. They lived in Okalhoma City and he worked for Ford Motor Company before moving to Grimes. He taught school at Grimes, Berlin, Breezey Meadow and Crawford. They returned to Oklahoma City for a short time before moving to Cheyenne in 1934 to make their home. Jesse owned and operated Dooty's Auto Supply and Variety. After Fern died he married Esther Opal Jencks on August 18, 1985 in Cheyenne. He was a member of the Church of God and was active in the Cheyenne United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, John; two other brothers; two sisters; his first wife, Fern Laura; and one grandson. Services will be 11 am. Tuesday at the Cheyenne United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Clayton Hughes, and Rev. Anne Clement. Interment will be in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
