All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Dodson, Smith, Thomas Frank Washington Dodson was born November 16, 1920 at Cheyenne to Reuben Harvey and Emily Smith Dodson and died Tuesday, July 29, 1997 at the age of 76. He attended school at Cheyenne and Herring. Frank was married to Hazel Thomas on August 28, 1941 at Hammon. They farmed and ranched in the Dempsey community and also lived at Sweetwater for one year. He was president of the Rural Neighborhood Progress Group and they won first place in state competition in 1958. He was a dedicated member of the Reydon United Methodist Church and served in many capacities on the board. He raised registered Limousine Cattle and was a tiller of the soil and a real conservationist. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Buster, Norman and Joe Lee. He is survived by his wife Hazel; two daughters Wanda Bachman and her husband J.G. of Shamrock and Frankie Cockrell and her husband Glen of Durham; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Faye Kirk of Elk City and Ruby Bogges of Moore and one brother Sam Dodson of Hammon. Funeral services were conducted August 1, 1997 in the Cheyenne School Auditorium with Rev. Marilyn Schellhamer officiating.
