She attended school at Emerson in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. She later moved to California in 1937. She worked for Shell Oil Company as a research engineer retiring in 1970. She enjoyed gardening, canning and collecting antiques. She had lived at the Guardian Ygnacio facility for the past six years. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Blevin; her son, Robert Gilliland, of Mojave, California; a brother, Lawrence Peters of Santa Cruz, California; two grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and sisters-in-law, Jewel Peters of Bethany, Oklahoma and Vera Peters of Clinton, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa peters and Lawrence Peters; brothers Jack, Jodie and Ray Peters; and one sister Clodell "Teddy" Klehs.
