Services were in the B.C. Wallace and Son Chapel, Stockton, California on August 29, 1983 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J.C. Park of Concord, California and Rev. George Swift of Stockton, California officiating. Interment was in Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, California. Mrs. Dean was the wife of Lisa Dean who preceded her in death. She was born in Marble, Arkansas. Her father and mother were James Rutledge and Anna Merchant Rutledge. She has seven living children. They include: Earl Dean of Concord Nursing Home, Concord, California; Myrtle Smith, Stockton, California, Thelma Thompson, Geary, oklahoma, Bethel Ridgeway, Clearlake, California; Aubra Dean, San Diego, California; Violet Tomberlin, Lockeford, California; Betty White, Moore Haven, Florida; also a sister Louisa Stroud of Arizona; grandmother of 26; and great grandmother of 51; and great great grandmother of 10. Also a host of relatives and friends. She and Lisa were farmers in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma for 42 years. Due to health, they went to California to be near most of their children. She went into Va Ray Convalescent Home in December and was there until her death. Her daughters, Myrtle Smith of Stockton, California, Violet Tomberlin of Lockeford, California and Bethel Ridgeway of Clearlake, California cared for Sarah before she entered the Convalescent Home. She was a loving companion and a wonderful mother, who considered other people first. She will be greatly missed, but God knows best and called her home to be with him. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
