James M. Downey was born August 31, 1876 in Nicholas County, Kentucky, 
and died at Paris, Texas June 7, 1949.  He was buried at Boswell, 
Oklahoma by the side of his wife.

He was married to Minnie Hicks in 1898.  He was a member of the Holiness 
church. He leaves to mourn his passing four sisters, Malena Griffey of 
Strong City, Oklahoma, Bessie Sloan of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Izzle Throne 
of Boswell, Oklahoma and Effie Applegate of Borentown, N.J. and two 
brothers, Johnnie Downey of Los Angeles, California and A.M. Downey of 
Chehalis, Washington.
