All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Dean, Hart Ada Lee Dean was born June 11, 1901 near Enid, Oklahoma to William and Deanna Allison Hart and passed away Wednesday, October 5, 1994 at the age of 93. She lived with her family some 12 miles SW of Leedey when she was a young girl. Ada attended Diamond Fron School. She was married to Carl Albert Dean on March 18, 1917 at Moorewood, Oklahoma. Mr. Deatn was fatally injured in an auto accidnet on November 16, 1949. Mrs. Dean made her residence at the home place until a short time ago when she entered the Leedey Nursing Home. Ada was a loving wife, mother and grandmother devoted to her famly. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her gracious hospitality to anyone who happened to be there. Ada loved to entertain her garden club, have her church group in for devotion and singing and always her table was covered with wonderful food. Ada was never happier than when she had her family and friends around, expecially her family. Her faith and devotion was an inspiration to her family and all who knew her. She loved to make things with her hands which were so beautifully expressed in ceramics and quilts. They were works of love for her family and friends. Ada was the "Queen Bee" of the Dean family, known affectionately as "Aunt Ada" by the community; called "Gran Gran" by her grandchildren and "Ada Belle" by some of her children. Even after Ada entered the nursing center, she continued piecing quilts and crocheting. Survivors include four children, Ted Dean and his wife Orpha of Hammon, Opal Walker of Oklahoma City, Carl "Jr" Dean and his wife Elaine of Hammon and Arla Ash and her husband Chuck of Hammon. Four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Taylor of Leedey, Mrs. Beatrice Gilliam of Pampa, TX, Mrs. Mildred Patton of Rogers, AR and Mrs. Fern Hall of Amarillo. 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. One daughter-in-law, Jean Johnson of Hammon and one son in law, Ron Yoxsimer of Oklahoma City, OK. Besides her husband, Ada was preceded in death by two sons, Melvin and Pete Dean and one daughter Naomi Yoxsimer. Also one sister and two brothers. Funeral services were Sat. Oct. 8, 1994 in the Red Star Brethren in Christ Church, where Ada Dean had been a member for many years. Officiating were former pastor Stan Norman, Abilene KS and pastor Henry Landis.
