All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Denney, Currier Paul Revere Denney, son of George and Katherine Denney, was born July 4, 1912 in Roger Mills County, one mile west of Red Star. He passed away at Cheyenne, Oklahoma March 14, 1983 at the age of seventy years. Paul attended the Red Star School near his home where he completed his elementary education. Paul was married to Lillie Faye Currier on December 27, 1932 in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dean. One son, Paul Denney, Jr., was born to this union. Mr. and Mrs. Denney established their home in the Red Star area and have resided the fifty years of their married life in this, their home community. Mr. Denney was a farmer and rancher, and occupation which was his chosen one. The strenous years of farming were made more enjoyable by his love of fishing, hunting, gardening and working with horses. In 1950 Paul made his commitment of Faith in Christ and was baptized. He attended the Red Star Brethre In Christ Church. Mr. Denney was a devoted husband and father and a grandfather. His neighbors and friends were very special to him and his kindness and concern for them endeared him to all who knew him. Honorary bearers were: Raymond Bieberich, Ab Lovett, Arl Pyeatt, Herbert Reed, Jack Hickman, Clyde McClean, J.D. Pyeatt and Aaron Welty. Services for Paul were held at 2:30 p.m. in the Red Star Brethern In Christ Church with Mike Tompkins and Lloyd Martin officiating on Wednesday March, 14, 1983. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Denney, three sisters and six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Faye, of the home, one son, Paul Denney, Jr. and wife, Joy, and one grandson, Monty all of Cheyenne; two sisters, Gertrude Combs of Bakersfield, California, and Oleta Rauchwerk of New Jersey; one brother, Clyde Denney of Roll, Oklahoma. Other relatives and many friends. Casket bearers were Kenneth Gamble, Larry McCaskill, Leon Reed, Orville Harris, Henry Pyeatt and Arthur Welty. Other survivors include a brother and a sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Murphy of Sayre; one sister, Mrs. Jean Ackerman of Oklahoma City, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by their only child, N.J. West III.
