The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== James Alfred Danks, age 79, a lifetime Park Rapids area resident, died Sunday, June 26, 1994 at the Dakota Hospital in Fargo. James was born on September 19, 1914 in Worthington, Minnesota to John and Mathilda Larson Danks. As a boy of 5 years of age, he moved with his parents to the Park Rapids area where they settled on a farm near Lake George. It was in this same area that he attended county school and as a young man, helped his father with farmwork, logging and trapping. On January 27, 1939, James was united in marriage to Myrtle Grace Brissett in Park Rapids. This union was blessed with 12 children, Clayton, Harry, Robert, Larry, Grace, Jan, David, Rosemary, Maxine, Roxana, Vivian and Bruce. James and his family resided in Schoolcraft township where he farmed and logged. James also did some excavating work for area resorts and farmers. James was a former member of the Park Rapid Eagles Area #870. He had many interest; he loved the out of doors and hunted each year right up to the last fall. He enjoyed fishing when time would allow. He loved working in the wood logging or trapping. He also had a deep love for music and as a young man would play accordion at area dances. He also enjoyed dancing. Above all, James was a man who enjoyed people whether telling stories, playing checkers or just spending time with family of friends. He will be lovingly remembered by his 4 daughters, Jan Farl of Wolf Lake, Maxine and her husband Todd Ellis of Park Rapids, Roxana Entwistle of Park Rapids, Vivian Greer of Escondido, California; 5 sons, Clayton and wife, Violet of St. Charles, Illinois, David and wife, Kay of Reydon, Oklahoma and Bruce of Escondido, California, 29 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Robert Lee Danks of Vaughn, Montana; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Rosemary and Grace and 1 son, Harry all who died in infancy; 1 granddaughter, Kimberly Farl in 1992 and 1 great grandson, Aaron Techida in 1991.
