She was the daughter of the late Thom and Lula Johnson. On November 1, 1911, she married Dee Duncan in Cheyenne. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1951. They lived in Butler for many years. Mrs. Duncan was loved by all who knew her for she enjoyed doing for others. She made friends easily and treasured their friendship throughout her life. Following the death of her parents she and her late husband raised her 2 sisters. After their move to California they helped to raise their grandchildren and great grandchildren. There was always a place in their hearts and home for those who needed help. Before their retirement years they operated a help-your-self laundry in California. Survivors include one son, Earl Duncan, National City, California, one daughter, Verna Mae Gillespie, Cypress, California; 2 brothers, Emit Johnson, Talent, Oregon, Claud Johnson, White City, Oregon; 2 sisters, Eva Trawick, Canute, Lillian Colegrove, Rathdrum, Idaho; two grandchildren, Earlene Whitehead, Cypress, California, Eddie Jamesone, National City, California and eight great grandchildren.
