The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Obit for Mary Alice Denton Mary Alice Denton was born April 13, 1885 in Greenwood, Missouri and passed away in the Cheyenne hospital, Thursday July 28, 1960 after two weeks of serious illness. She came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Funston, to western Oklahoma in 1902, and settled in the former Rankin community which is now Reydon. On April 14, 1903 she was united in marriage to Charles E. Denton in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Later that year the family moved to Lee Summitt, Missouri where they lived until 1817, when they moved to Reydon where she has lived alone. She was one of western Oklahoma;s pioneers. She was a member of the Christian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elea clay of Reydon, five grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. J.T. Cliffod of Pleasant Hill, Mirrousi; one brother, Luther Funston of Canyon, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends. Her husband, three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted Sunday July 31, 1060 at the Community Building in Reydon with Rev. Lynn Heard, former Baptist pastor, officiaating. Burial was in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma by the side of her husband. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok
