She was born on April 23, 1908, in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, to George W. Walker and Amanda Jane Mathis Walker. Funeral services were December 4, 2004 at First Protestant Church, New Baunfels, with the Rev. Darly Higgins officiating. Burial was at Guadalup Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Dunlap was a 1927 Cheyenne High School graduate and attended Southwestern College in Weatherford for two years. She taught in a one- room school in Western Oklahoma during the mid-1930's on a temporary teaching certificate issued by Oklahoma officials during the Depression. She also worked for families in Canadian, Texas, to supplement her income before moving to Russell, Kansas, about 1937, where she purchased and opened a cafe. She married William S. Dunlap, Jr., ASpril 24, 1938, in Salina, Kansas. The couple later farmed in Altoona, Kansas a few years before moving to Ellinwood, Kansas. In 1954 the family moved to Wichita, where Mrs. Dunlap worked as a waitress, in garment sale and as a classroom teacher while completing college. She earned a bachelor's degree from Friends University in Wichita in 1963. Her professional career included teaching at the former Institute of Logapedies and at Holy Cross Lutheran School, both in Wichita. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Doyle and Noel both of Roger Mills County; three sisters, Lucille Forrest and Helen Henderson, both of Canadian, Texas, and her twin sister Merle Kendall of Houston, Texas; and son-in-law, Archie Ladshaw of New Braunfels. Survivors include her children; Martha . Bogle and Nancy Ladshaw, both of New Braunfels; William S. and Joyce Dunlap, Topeka, Kansas, and Mary Jane Dunlap, Lawrence, Kansas; Grandchildren: Mrs. Ron (Amber L.) Bogle-Jelich, Greensboro, North Carolina; Joe O. Haines, II, Cypress, Texas; Stuart Bogle, Wichita, Kansas; and William S. "Shep" Dunlap, Austin, Texas; Mrs Lee (Judy) Taylor, Arlington, Texas; John Ladshaw and Mrs. Larry (Teresa) Davis, both of New Braunsfels; Mrs. Christipher (Andrea) McBree, Westford, Vt, 11 great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Lysbeth Davis, Pawhuske, Oklahoma. Her relatives from the Cheyenne area include cousins Eldon and Melba Boswell, Wanda Purcell, Erma Hensley, Glen and Sherry Hensley, all of Cheyenne; Nelda and Weldon Davis, Strong City; nephews Glen Bill Walker and Helen Ann Walker; Wallace and Merlyn Forrest, Dale and Paula Forrest, Sidney and Janet Henderson, all of Canadian, Texas; niece: Zelda Pendergrass, Amarillo, Texas; cousins LaNella Hensley, Addie Hensley and Norma Hensley, all of Pampa, Texas; and Ronald and Darlene Hensley, Durham. Wanda Purcell, Glen Bill and Helen Ann Walker, Wallace and Merlyn Forrest, Dale Forrest and Zelda Pendergrass attended the December 4 services in New Braunfels.
