All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Daniels, Allen, Farrell, Kirk, Campbell Aubra Dar "Blacky" Daniels was born July 18, 1922 on the farm at Leedey, Oklahoma, to Cecil Grover and Oceola Daniels. He passed away March 17, 2001 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 29 days. A.D.'s mother passed away while he was young and his three sisters and his father raised him. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country during World War II. He saw action in Africa and Sicily before going to Italy, where he was captured. He was a POW for 14 months before escaping. He returned to the U.S. and after his discharge, he came back to Roger Mills County where he married Ellen Allen at Cheyenne on December 8, 1945. They owned a grocery store in Dumas, Texas before moving to California for a short time. They returned to Oklahoma in 1956 and bought a farm at Three Corners. They ran cattle before beginning a dairy operation. They later moved it to their farm west of Cheyenne and operated the dairy until 1981, but continued to raise cattle until his death. They moved to Cheyenne in 1982 to make their home. A.D. enjoyed talking and loved to tell his life stories. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and devoted husband. He will be reatly missed by all those who loved him. A.D. was a member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ardith Dale, and three sisters, Goldie, Sylvia and Jewel. He is survived by his wife Ellen of the home. Two daughters, Karen Dale Farrell and husband William Dale of Sweetwater, OK and Ellen Marie Kirk and husband Rory of Cheyenne, OK. One son Ardith Daniels and wife Patti of Cheyenne, OK. Four granddaughters, Dena Lee Farrell, Dana Len Farrell, Danielle Daniels and Samatha Kirk. Three grandsons, Billy Joe Farrell, Michael Wayne Farrell and Danny Dale Farrell; a sister-in-law, Tennie Dale Campbell, Cheyenne, OK and a host of relatives and friends. Services were held March 20, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church, officiated by Terrell Romberg.
