Myrtle nursed and cared for Robert who died at the age of 28 from the result of World War II injuries. Myrtle and Bob also nursed and cared for both of their mothers who came to live with them in the last part of their lives. The act of caring, sharing and giving is the ministry that best symbolizes Myrtle's life; first for her family, and then for friends and neighbors. Her life was spent on the farm-helping in the fields, working with livestock and planting a yearly garden big enough not only for her families needs, but for the neighbors as well. Every year she raised chickens, bot for meat and eggs, and delivered eggs, cream and freshly canned fruites and vegetables to the lucky people who were counted among her friends. In her "spare" time she sewed most of the clothes for her family and made countless stuffed toys to give to all who cmae along. Also included in her many talents were crocheting, quilting, and various other crafts in which she created many priceless treasurers. She was a working woman who found great joy in work and service. When her body failed her and she was forced to give up her daily tasks, her mind was still thining of how to help others. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, R.L. and Robert Louie Donaldson, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
