The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Normal Dellon Dyer, 68, of Boys; Ranch, Texas was born November 27, 1921 to Lester D. and Loraine Risner Dyer in Graffic, Arkansas and passed away Sunday December 31, 1989 in the High Plains Baptist Hospital of Amarillo. Normal moved as a young man with his parents to Wheeler, Texas then to Allison, Texas. On June 27, 1942, he was married to Hanah Elizabeth George in Reydon, Oklahoma. He served in the Air Force during World War II. In 1946, he moved to Texas then to Arkansas, returning to Allison where he owned and operated a grocery store later moving to Wheeler where he owned and operated a cafe. Mr. Dyer had been a farmer and a cook all of his life. The past 13-1/2 years were spent at The Cal Farley Boys' Ranch where he was a cook, helping to feed and raise boys. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Channing, Texas, since 1976. Preceding him in death were his parents, 1 granddaughter, 1 sister and 1 brother. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of the home, 1 daughter, Betty Ann Dyer of Amarillo, 4 sons, Bobby J. Dyer of Russellville, Alabama; Michael Dyer of Allison, Texas; William Frank (Billy) Dyer of Augusta, Georgia; 6 sisters, Nona Jones of Allison, Texas; Edna Dyer of Palm Dale, California; Carmella Gregory of Alma, Arkansas; Brenda Smulcer of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; Sarah Mitchell of Alma, Arkansas; Peggy Carter of Alma, Arkansas; 5 brothers, Alvis C. Dyer; Robert Dyer; Benjamin Dyer all of Mountainberg, Arkansas; Luther Dyer of Alma, Arkansas; John Dyer of Randy, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were in the First Baptist Church of Allison, Texas at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 3, 1990 with Michael Dyer and Royce Mason officiating. Burial followed in the Zyback Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
