He was married to Annie Cahterine Warden in 1888. To this union was born one daughter and 4 sons. His wife and one son preceded him in death. They moved to western Oklahoma in 1903 and homesteaded near Dempsey and he has lived there until his death. Surviviors include Mrs. Laura King, Reydon, John R. Dare, Temple, Arizona, Alfred E. Dare, jr., Kirksville, Mo., David C. Dare, Sayre; two sisters, Miss Lizzie Dare and Mrs. Hulda Alllen, both of Santa Cruz, California; nine grandchildren and 18 great grabdchildren and a host of friends. Sayre Sunbeam, 9-Aug-1951 ========= Rites will be held at 3 p.m. Friday for Alfred Edwin Dare, pioneer of the Dempsey community, who died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday July 24, 1951 at the Dempsey school with Jack Cox, local Church of Christ minister officiating. He was born July 8, 1958 in Deer Ridge, Missouri and was married to 188. They came to western Oklahoma in 1903 and homesteaded in the Dempsey community where he has lived since. He is a farmer and stockman. Survivors includse one daughter, Mrs. Laura King, Reydon, three sons, John Dae of Tempe, Ariz., A.E. King, Jr., Kirksville, Mo., and David C. Dare, Sayre; two sisters, Miss Lizzie Dae and Mrs. Hulda Allen both of Santa Cruze, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. His wife and one son preceded him in death. Burial will be in the Dempsey cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Scroggins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. (Copied as printed in the newspaper.)
