Damron was born August 2, 1915 at Herring, Oklahoma to D.M. and Algin Hodges Damron and moved from his home to Heaven on Thursday, November 23, 2000 at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 20 days. He attended Herring School and at the age of 18 was married to Florence Lowry. They established their home in the Herring Community and 10 years later moved to the Berlin Community where they have lived since. Cecil had many interesting occupations: carpenter, roping, farming, cattle rancher and sportsman. He was a member of the Full Gospel Lighthouse and was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jerry Damron and three brothers, Ray, Vernon and Buford. Survivors include his wife, Florence Damron of the Berlin home, two daughters, Arneeta Gordon and her husband Freddie of Sayre and Sharon White and her husband Dean of Red Oak, Oklahoma; two sons Dean Damron and his wife, Joyce of Sayre, and Loren Damron and his wife Betty of Cheyenne, a daughter-in-law, Barbara White, wife of the late son Jerry; two sisters, Vonnie Allen and Marie Stout, both of Elk City; 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
