Bobby Stewart officiating. Burial was held at the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Martin Funeral Hom of Elk City. Anna Mae Damron was born February 28, 1919, in Cheyenne to James David and Marie Wear Taylor and passed away on January 19, 2007 at her Hammon home. Anna graduated from Cheyenne High School and from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. On August 15, 1938, she was married to Daniel Vernon "Dick" Damron. To this union was born 5 children. Two sons, Daniel Melvin and Ronald Gene preceded her in death during their early childhood. Her husband preceded her in death in 1959. Anna lived all of her life in Roger Mills County. She was a member of the Hammon Pentecostal Holiness Church. She taught Sunday School, was Youth Group leader, and served as secretary-treasurer of the church for 53 years. She taught third grade in the Cheyenne Public School for 20 years. Preceding her in death were her two parents, her husband, two sons, and three brothers, Melvin, Billy and James David "J.D." Taylor. Survivors include her children, Larry Damron and wife Carla, of Elk City, Oklahoma; Gary Damron, of Tuttle, and Beverly Damron, of Hammon; a sister, Inis Griffith, of Chilicothe, Illinois; three sisters-in-law, Vonnie "Allen, Marie Sxtout, and Florence Damron, of Elk City, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
