Davis, age 81, died Monday, December 29, 2008 at his home in Mustang after a time of declining health. He was born September 29, 1927 on the family farm near Reydon, Oklahoma to Charles G. and Lula (Hicks) Davis. V.C. was a graduate of Kingston High School in Kingston, ID and attended Hill Business College in Nashville, TN. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He owned and operated service stations in OKC metro area for over thirty years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mustang. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Orvis and Scott Davis and three sisters, Dessie and Lola Burks and Glennie Ellis. Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Donna of the home; one son Russell Davis and wife Shannon of Newcastle; one daughter, Debbie Neugent of OKC; five grandchildren, Russ and wife Randi, Brice, Amy and husband Cliff, Danya, Taylor and five great grandchildren, BreAnna, Grant, Trey, Brooke and Gracie; two brothers, Lester Davis and wife Clare of Reydon, OK and Carol Davis and wife Phyllis of OKC; one sister, Earlene Hughes of Arkansas. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the "Building Fund" at First Baptist Church of Mustang, 928 N. Mustang Road, Mustang, OK 73064. Services were held on Friday, January 2, 2009 in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK with interment in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
