Funeral services were Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Cheyenne First Baptist Church with Rev. Milton Gage officiating. Burial was in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahomsa. He was born October 17,1896 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He came to Roger Mills County a the age of 17 and spent the remainder of his life here. As a young man, he was employed by Pete Girdner and by T.M. Reynolds in the Mercantile business in Strong City. He was married November 9, 1933 to Lilian Ama Casady at El Reno. Later he moved to Cheyenne where he entered the oil business. He was an employee of the state for several years. Before his retiremewnt in 1968, Mr. Dean and his wife were engaged in the mercantile business at Roll. As a business man, Mr. Dean was honest, and upright in his dealings. As a neighbor he was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. In his passing the community loses one of its good citizens, and members of his family will always cherish the memory of his words of advice and kindly admonition. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of the home; 2 sons, Lee of Oklahoma City and Roger of Mansfield, Mo.; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Jess Knight of Yuma, Arizona; and Mrs. Lane Lathrop of Bell Gardens, California, all of whom were present.
