Roy Dewees officiating. Interment will be in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Elk City, Oklahoma. Hazel Larue Dodson was born Augbust 27, 1923 at Hammon, Oklahoma to Benjamin and Helen (James) Thomas and passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 at the age of 86 years. She attended Herring and Cheyenne Schools. Hazel was married to Frank Washington Dodson on August 28, 1941 at Hammon and with the exception of a few years at Elk City and Sweetwater, they farmed and ranched in the Dempsey Community most all of their married life. Mr. Dodson preceded her in death on July 29, 1997. Hazel was a member of the Reydon Methodist Church where she was active in WMU. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include 2 daughters, Wanda Bachman and her husband J.GT. Bachman of Shamrock, Texas and Frankie Cockrell and her husband Glen of Durham, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren: Rhonda Bentley, Regina Krug, Janice Schaub, Timmy Cockrell and Jerry Cockrell; 9 great- grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and a special friend, Margie Baker of Durham, Oklahoma.
