Aubrey Cowan officiating on August 26, 1985. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City. Mrs. Bertha Evans was born on January 16, 1894 in Grant Parish, Louisiana and passed away August 24, 1985 at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 8 days. As a small child her family moved from Louisiana to Washita County. There she met and was married to Ramsey M. Evans on March 8, 1911. They moved to Texas County near Goodwill where they resided a few years, moving by covered wagon to Roger Mills County in 1915 where they settled in the Sandstone Community southeast of Cheyenne. There they lived and raised their family for some 35 years before moving to Elk City in 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1957; also one infant daughter. She was the last of 9 brothers and sisters. Survivors are 2 sons, Glen Evans of Amarillo, Texas; Jimmie Evans of Fariview, Missouri; 1 daughter, Floreta Bogges, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; a foster son, Carl Dorman of Elk City; a nephew whom she raised from infancy, also 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were grandsons: Larry Bogges, Gary Bogges, Bob Evans, James Evans, Jerry Evans, Mark Dorman, Dennis Evans, Curtis Dorman and Joe Mike Dorman. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
