Mrs. Evans and her son, Bill Tom, were enroute to Alva to attending a home coming of the northwestern Teachers College when the Evans car collided with another car driven by Mrs. Christine Winifred Blockcolski. Ohter occupants of the Blockloski car injured were Mrs. Guffey, who received a broken leg and pelvis, and has been reported as dieng from the injuries, she received and twin sons, Donny and Danny, together with Mrs. Bockolski and Bill Tom Evans. A patrolman who was called to the scene stated that the accident occurred when Mrs. Blockolski attemped to pass a truck on an incline, meeting the Evans car. Not having time to pull to the right of the road, she pulled to the left in an effort to avoid the accident, colliding with the Evan car. Lucille Evans was well known in this community, having frown to womanhood in this and Strong City community, being the daughter of the late Uncle Bill Kendall who served this county as treasurer for a number of years. She was employed in the Cheyenne schools for a number of years as an instructor. Later she was employed in Extension work by the A.& M. College and for the past two years has been connected with the Oklahoma Tuberculosis Association. Last June she transferred to become executive director for Grant and Garfield counties. Mrs. Evans was a widow, being survived by a son, Bill Tom, who was the driver of the Evans car and is a student at A.& M. and a daughter, Martha Ann, a sophmore at the University of Oklahoma, two brothers, Ed Kendall of Anadarko and Tom Kendall of Glazier, Texas, and five sisters: Mrs. Abbie Young of Elk City, Frnkie Lindsey, Oklahoma City; Bird Bradford of Anadarko; Maggie Simpson of the state of Oregon; Dave Hyer of Guymon. All of the above attended the funeral except Mrs. Simpson. R.H. Kendall, Doug Kendall and Vivian Kendall of this city are cousins of the deceased.
