He was born May 17, 1901 at Weatherford and moved to the Rankin community in 1902 with his parents. He attended school at Locus Grove Schoo. He married Mae Cox on May 25, 1924 at Rankin, near Reydon. He was a rancher and also had served on the Midway School Baord for a number of years. He was an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one brother. Survivors include his wife Mae of the home; four daughters, Patsy Burks, Reydon; Jolene Keller, Downey, Calif.; Frankye Burton, Rapid City, S.D., and Rose Marie Mixon, Houston, Tex.; one son, Ted Estes, Sayre; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Dick Estes, Reydon; three sisters, Mrs. Juanita Billingsley, Cheyenne; Mrs. Roxann Wilson, Delta Colo.; and Mrs. Evelyn Mabra, Big Spring, Texas. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Reydon Community Building, with the Rev. Ray Smart of the Durham Baptist Church, officiating.
