She passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2000 at Canadian, Texas. She attended the Bend of the River School before the Durham school was established and graduated from Durham High School. Mrs. Estes attended College at Oklahoma State University at Stillwater and later received a degree in Education form Southwesrn State College in Weathefford, Oklahoma. She was an educator for thirty-eight years in Oklahoma and Texas. She married Reginald Estes on June 19, 1949. Mr. and Mrs. Estes lived in Durham, Reydon, Oklahoma City, and Yukon, Oklahoma during their married years. She moved to Canadian in 1993 and lived in the Edward Abraham Memorial Home. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brogther Perry Keller; and three sisters, Virginia Montgomery, Sara Newton and Verona Cole. She is survived by two sisters Rube Montgomery of Colusa, California and Jean Baker of Beaver, Oklahoma, along with other relatives and friends. Services were held August 4, 2000 at the Fairview Cemetery near Durham, Oklahoma with Rev. Gary Jahnel, pastor of the Mobeetie Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian, Texas.
