Funeral Services were held Wednesday, November 3 at 10:00 a.m. in Reydon, Oklahoma at the Reydon Community Building. Interment followed in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Home of Cheyenne. Berta Monroe Purcell Estes was born April 28, 1914, near Rankin, Oklahoma one of 3 boys and 7 girls. She was a life long member of the Eastern Star where she held many offices. Berta was also a long-time member of the Reydon United Methoodist Church where she taught Sunday School and worked with the Youth of the church until she was no longer able. She was active in the United Methodist Women and held many district offices. She loved her church, her family and her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Eugene Estes in 1997. Berta had lived with her daughter Karen, in Dallas, Texas since November 2003. Survivors: Son Gordon Estes and his wife Wanda, Mobeetie, Texas; daughter Pastor Karen Estes Dudley, Dallas, Texas; Son Gary Estes and wife Mona, Cleburne, Texas; sisters Atrell Hooper and Jane Swopes of Elk City, Oklahoma; Adell Simpson, Clinton, Oklahoma; and June Devine, Woodward, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Reydon United Methodist Church, Reydon, Oklahoma 73660.
