Eakins 71 year old retired famer who died in Elk City, were held Monday at 2:30 p.m., from Fairview Baptist church, Jess Hawley officiating. Born April 22, 1889 in Quanah, Texas, Mr. Eakins died Saturday July 8, 1961 in a Elk City hospital. He had been ill the past two years. He had been a resident of Roger Mills County since he was 7 years of age. He moved to Elk City in January of this year. In 1912 he was married to Delta Rippey in Roger Mills county. She died in 1934 and in 1957 he was married to Thelma Morrow, who survives. His church preference was Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Thelma, of the home; four children, Mrs. C.C. Wilson, Scottsdale, Arizona; Mrs. Doyle Farni, Elk City; Vade Eakins, Sanger, California; and Joe Eakins, Hammon; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Lacey, Cheyenne, Mrs. Grace Gerbes, Wichita, Kansas and Mrs. Hattie Compton, Lipan, Texas; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Burial was in the Kiowa cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK ======== Funeral rites for George C.
