Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. They casket will be closed following the service so friends may call by the Funeral Home for visitation. Carroll Seay Eggers was born September 8, 1905 in Lewisville, Arkansas and died Sunday at the age of 92. He was one of three sets of twins and his twin died in infancy. Mr. Eggers came to Oklahoma at the age of 18 where he lived for a short time in Elk City before moving to Hammons where he worked for Lambert Storage and Transfer from 1924 to 1926. He was later employed by the Roger Mills Co-op Association where he worked for 35 years, first as a flour miller and later became manager of the Association. He became interested in Cable TV and in 1961 built and operated Hammons Community TV, and Coldwater Kansas Cable System and then retired in 1970. Carroll was a member of the Masonic Lodge in 1928 where he was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was twice the Mayor of Hammons, President of the Lions Club and was instrumental in the completion of the Senior Citizens Center. He was a volunteer in Officer Candidate School during World War II where he received his training at Ft. Francis E. Warren in Wyoming. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers and sisters and one grandchild. Survivors include his wife Beatrice Eggers of the Hammons home. Two daughters, Carol Ann Reim and her husband Gary of Richardson, Texas and Donna Bogle and her husband Dennis of Columbia, Missouri. 1 granddaughter, Sarah Reim and 1 grandson: Jay Reim and his wife Stephanie of Richardson, Texas.
