Martin officiating. Interment followed in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Oklahoma. Virley Lue (Kitty) was born March 4, 1902 in Arkansas to James George Washington and Martha Isabelle Roper and passed from this life Wednesday, August 12, 1987 in the Hensley Nursing Home of Sayre following an extended illness. She was married on September 19, 1919 at the Beckham County Court House, Sayre, Oklahoma to Daniel Buron Drake and lived in Brinkman, Elk City, Carter, Mangum and Clinton, Oklahoma before moving to Cheyenne in 1932. Virley and Buran remained in Cheyenne where they owned and operated the Drake Café for many years. They built the first city park with a swimming pool in 1946. Virley, known as Kitty, always wanted a park for the children in Cheyenne. Mr. Drake passed away in 1967. On June 28, 1970, she and Aaron C. Eddings were married in Cheyenne where they lived at the time of his death in 1973. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Cheyenne for a number of years. In addition to her husbands those who preceded her death were her parents; 1 son, Rex; 2 grandsons, Jimmy Jack Drake and Bobby Jay Drake; 1 sister and 4 brothers. Survivors include; 3 daughters, Marchlla Hadlock, of Oklahoma City; Frankie Green of Canyon, Texas and Judy Boyce Dunlap of Sayre, Oklahoma; 1 son, Jack Drake of Thackerville, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 sister Isabella Johnson of Visalia, California, other relatives and friends. Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Kenny Drake, Billy Drake, Rodney Green, Justin Boyce, Andy Taylor, John Green, Babe Frankford served as honorary pallbearer. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, ok
