Serivces were held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Nazarene church with Rev. T.R. Louthan and Rev. Billy Covey officiating. Born April 9, 1881 in Tennessee. Mr. Ely was married to May Abney in Berea in 1913. They moved from Kentucky to the Doxey community in 1918 and to Cheyenne in 1927. He has been a member of the Nazarene church over 30 years. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife in 1963, three brothers and four sisters. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Jane Schmidt, Sweetwater, Mrs. Frankie Tidwell, Grimes, Mrs. Deaton Williams, Sayre; two sons, Hiram of Cheyenne, Leonard of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 27 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Dora Shannon, Bowling Green, Ky. Interment in Dempsey cemetery, Dempsey, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok
