Dyer Fuchs was born February 25, 1918 in San Antonio, Texas to Zula and Grover Cleveland Dyer. She passed away July 9, 2000 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 14 days. Dorothy's mother passed away when she was 9 years old and she and her brothers were raised in Tipton Children's Home. She was married to Yolanda C. Fuchs, Sr. at Wellington, Texas. They moved to the Grimes community to make their home. She moved to Austin, Texas in 1973 and then to Elk City, Oklahoma in 1983. Dorothy loved to travel, work in ceramics and do needlework. She was a member of the Pioneer and Bell Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, one brother, Grover Dyer; and two grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Loretta Huff, Allison, Texas; and Lois Fuchs of Austin, Texas; four sons, Windle Fuchs, Y.C. Fuchs of Sweetwater, Oklahoma, Wayne Fox of Garland, Texas and Marion Fox of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eighteen grandchildren; one brother Alfred Dyer, of El Paso, Texas; numberous great grandchildren; Care Givers, Kandra Broadbent, Lois Bryan and Maisie Flick; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held Wednesday, July 12, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at Pioneer and Bell Church of Christ, officiated by Dale Royal. Burial was at Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
