All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Fuchs, Thurman, Cleavenger, Davis, Colby, Ryan Evan Key Fuchs was born on July 4, 1904 in the Prentiss Community that is now known as Bulo and passed away in the Elk City Community Hospital at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 8 days. Evan, the son of Albert B. and Mary Elizabeth Fuchs, attended school at Buffalo which was across the creek from their home. He later attended Abilene Christian High School in Abilene, Texas and finally Sayre High School where he graduated in 1922. He attended Cordell Christian College and Oklahoma A & M. On July 8, 1925 he married Ola Artie Thurman in Bulo and they made their home in the Bulo Community except for 3 years when they lived in Roger Mills County, working for the Highway Department, from 1935 to 1938. Evan was a farmer and rancher who devoted most of his life to building and improving a registered hereford cattle operation that was started by his father and continued by Evan on the homeplace where he was born. He was a life long member of the Church of Christ where he was a stong supporgter of Christian Schools and Christian Education. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, Doyle and 1 infant son, 2 brothers, Yolande and Fravil and 1 sister, Ima Cleavenger. He is survived by; his wife, Artie; 1 daughter, Chole Ellen Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 2 sons, Clayton of Lubbock, Texas, Westal of Fort Worth, Texas; 1 brother, Gilbert of Macomb, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Mable Colby of Abilene, Texas, Oran Ryan of NJorman, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 14, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sayre Church of Christ with Jim Trimmer and Eddie Beard officiating. Burial was in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre.
