The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Winifred Kathryn Ogle Fast died Monday, February 24, 1986, at 4:550 p.m., at Lamar, Missouri after a short illness at the age of 90. Winifred was born January 15, 1896 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Fred and Agnes Ogle. She moved to Durham, Oklahoma with her parents at the age of 8 years old. Fred Ogle homesteaded on a farm east of Durham, known as the Theodore Lutz place. Winifred married Fred Beckel, who was killed in a train accident in December, 1918. To this union two sons were born, Lawrence Beckel of Durham, Oklahoma, and Robert Beckel of Indio, California. She married Charles B. Whitson in November, 1919, at Cheyenne, Oklahoma. They lived and farmed in the Durham Community for many years, then sold the farm. They moved to Jasper, Missouri and bought a farm in 1945, and farmed until the death of Mr. Whitson in 1956. She sold the farm and bought a home in Iantha, Missouri. She married Marian Fast on April 8, 1962. They moved to Liberal, Missouri and she lived there until her death. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Liberal, Missouri, where she attended until unable to go. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Marian Fast, Liberal, Missouri; 4 sons, Lawrence Beckel, Durham, Oklahoma; Robert Beckel, Indio, California; Charles Whitson, Liberal, Missouri, and Preston Whitson, Tulsa, Oklahoma; 2 daughters, Sarah Strickland, Monroe, Louisiana, and Kathy Allred of Bowie, Texas; one sister-in-law, Eunice of Lamar, Missouri; one step-son, Barton Fast of Iantha, Missouri; one step-daughter, Merie Jacobson, Sioux Rapids, Iowa; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; 8 step-grandchildren; 11 ste-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great- grandchild, and many relatives and friends. Three brothers preceded her in death. They were Frank Ogle, St. Louis, Missouri, Jo Ogle, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Lawrence Ogle, Indio, CA. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 1986 at Lohmeyer- Konants Funeral Chapel, Lamar, Missouri, with the Rev. Bob Dickey officiating. She was laid to rest beside her second husband, Charles B. Whitson, at Waters Cemetery near Jasper, Missouri. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
