All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Fletcher, White Turtle, Keeton, Flaying Out, Standingwater, Kauley, Orange, Brewer, Thunderbull Funeral services for Claude Fletcher, Sr., 70, will be held at 2p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church of Clinton. Burial will be in Indian Cemetery directed by Stanley-Lee Funeral Home. Mr. Fletcher was born May 15, 1920 to George and Ester Fletcher in Butler and died early Monday January 23, 1991 in Elk City Community Hospital. He was raised in the Thomas area and he joined the CCC Camp before marrying the former Anosta White Turtle in 1947 in Clinton. The couple raised their family in the Clinton and Elk City areas. He had worked for Clinton Trader's Compress Factory, Bills Bakery in Clinton and Sequoyah Furniture Mfg. Co., along with Howard Furniture Factory in Elk City. He was ordained into the Baptist Ministry in 1976 and was a member of the Indian Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby Keeton, a step son, Rufus White Turtle, three grandchildren, Nancy, Alex and Denis Flyingout, four sisters, Nellie, Roberta, Irene and Stella Fletcher and two brothers, Glen and Ralph Fletcher. He is survived by his wqife, Anosta, of Elk City; five daughters, Claudine Flying Out, Weatherford; Irene Standingwater, Concho; Arleen Kauley, Hammon, Chloe Orange and Susie Fletcher both of Elk City; 3 sons Ralph Fletcher, Elk City; Claude Jr., Apache and Terry Fletcher, Elk City; two adopted daughters, Emma Lou Brewer, Elk City and Elizabeth Thunderbull, Clinton and 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Wake services will be at 7 p.m. tongiht in the Indian Baptist Church, Clinton.
