He had gone to Minneapolis for the purpose of having an articicial leg fitted, after which he intended to return to Cheyenne and visit his mother. The telegram announcing his death was received in Cheyenne at 2 o'clock last Saturday morning by members of the family. The body arrived in Cheyenne late Tuesday evening and services were held at the Methodist Church in this city,. Wednesday morning at 10:30. Rev. Miller, Pastor of the Presbyterian church conducted the service, after which the interment was made in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma where a large crowd of friends followed the remains to its resting place. Buford Fields grew to manhood in and near Cheyenne and had an extensive acquaintenance throughout Western Oklahoma, and his many friends were saddened by his timely death. He was an opened hearted man and nothing was too good for his friends. Friends from Strong City, Elk City and other towns were here to attend the funeral. One of the largest crowds attending a funeral in Cheyenne for many a day was present. Each death is a link that binds the love ones to the beyond. So let us live and do that when our time comes we will be found a good link in the endless chain of the plan of Nature. Mrs. Fields and family have the sympathy of the entire community in this their saddest hour.
