Odie Nunley officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday Mary 16, 2001 at Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Gene Garland Flynt was born August 3, 1935 to Vernie James and Doris Basinger Flynt on the family farm east of Hammon and died Saturday at Memorial Hospital in Guymon at the age of 65. Gene graduated from Hammon High school with the class of 1954 and from Panhandle A&M College in Goodwell in 1958. After graduation and service in the military, which included overseas duty in Korea, Gene worked for his brother Jack L. Flynt for a hort time at the Flynt Grocery in Hooker. Gene then began his career serving in the U.S. Army Reserves, working at the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Guymon, retiring at the rank of Major. He received the honor and distinction of "Employee of the year" before his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the First Baptist Church; Elks Lodge of Guymon and a 32nd Degree Masonic Member of the Guymon Masonic Lodge #335 AF&AM. Gne was previously married to Jacque Spragins and later was united in marriage to June Collins at Raton, New Mexico on July 21, 1986. His parents and two brothers, Jack L. Flynt and Billy J. Flynt, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, June of the home; two daughters, Chelle Flynt of Boulder, Colorado and Jan Flynt of Amarillo, Texas, one son, Steve Flynt and his wife, Joyce of Booker, texas, Dennis Davis and his wife, Leesaha of Glendale, Arizona, three stepsons, Clifton Davis Jr. and his wife, Andrea of Pampa, Texas and Gary davis and his wife, Kay of Mineral Wells, Texas; a stepdaughter, Renie (Cory) Kasiah of Guymon; one brother, Don Flynt and his wife Judy of Edmond; two grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. Memorial may be given to the Amercian Lung Association. Memorial will be accepted at the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
