Flynt, of Hammon, Oklahoma, who died in St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City Sunday, June 23, 1974 were conducted from the Methodist Church in Hammon Wednesday, June 26, 1974 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. W.L. Magar of Wheatland, Oklahoma and Mrs. Minnie McKinney the pastor of the church officiating. Burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Flynt was born September 30, 1902 in Byars, Oklahoma. He was 71. He was the only son of James O. and Mamie Flynt. The family moved to a farm west of Leedey, when he was 6 years of age the family moved to the Hammon area and he presently lived on the farm 3 1/2 miles northeast of Hammon. He was married to Doris Basinger, January 15, 1927 at Elk City. He was a graduate of Hammon High School and attended Southwestern State College and taught school at Hydro and Elk City before returning to farming.
