All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Flenner, Lay, Martin, Baker, Sollers, Fry, Rupp, Macklin James Samuel Flenner was born July 21, 1889 at Martinsville, Illinois. He departed this life on September 21, 1961 at the age of 72 years and 2 months, at the Cheyenne hospital, after a long illness. "Jim", as he was known by his friends, came to Oklahoma in 1903. He married Allie Lay November 24, 1910. To this union three sons were born, John Harlon and Elmer. Survivors include his wife, Allie and John of the home, Harlon of Torrance, California, and Elmer of Cheyenne; three grandchildren, Shirley Baker of Los Angeles, Barbara Martin of Cheyenne and Jimmie Flenner, Cheyenne; also three great grandchildren, a niece Stella Sollers of Prescott, Arizona whom he raised from childhood; one brother, George of Elk City; three sisters, Annie Fry of Weatherford, Lula Rupp of Cheyenne, Effie Macklin of Berlin and a host of other relatives and friends. Jim united with the Methodist Church at Berlin in 1917 of which he has been a member since. Jim was respected by his many friends for his honesty, fair dealings and warm smile. The world mourns his loss, but Heaven rejoices over its gain. Funeral services were conducted in the Berlin Auditorium Sunday afternoon with Rev. Clayton Hughes and Rev. Chester Eakins officiaating. Committaal was in the Berlin cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under direction of the Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne.
