She passed away November 9, 2000 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 14 days. She was married to Harlon Samuel Flenner in the New Liberty Community on August 30, 1936. They lived in Cheyenne before moving to Torrance, California where Harlon worked as a welder in the shipyards during World War II. They moved to Berlin and later back to California before moving to Elk City in 1980 to make their home. IN 1993 Gertrude moved to Cheyenne to be near her daughter. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Lillie Maddox; and three brothers, Bud, Charles Jr., and Calvin Plummber. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Ronald Baker, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Larry Baker of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and Debra Baker of Pleasant Hill, California; two great grandsons, Garrett Baker and Larry Steven Baker; five sisters, Anna Wilson and Helen Seals, both of Elk City, Oklahoma, Dorothy Flenner of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and Mary Brown and Evelyn Mackey, both of Sayre, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held Saturday, November 11, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at Cheyenne Church of Christ, officiated by Kendall Abner and assisted by Terrell Rombert.
