Mrs. Finch, a native of Cheyenne, was born November 10, 1893 ten miles west of Cheyenne in the home which was homesteaded by her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Warren who came to Roger Millsa county soon after the opening of the C&A strip in 1892. Myra received her early education in the Cheyenne school and Kidd- Key College, in Sherman, Texas. She was converted and became a member of the Methodist Church while in college. After finishing college she taught music in Cheyenne until her marriage to Ives Finch in September, 1918. He preceded her in death in January, 1956. Myra taught school for many years in Cheyenne, Anadarko, Canton and Kelton, Texas and received her B.S. Degree in education at Southwestern College, Weatherford, during her teaching career. She moved to Norman in 1951 retiring from teaching in 1952. She had been a member of Platonic Club, the Pioneer Supper Club and the Rebekah Lodge of Cheyenne and always called Cheyenne home. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Loyd "Adda" Dorsett, Norman, Oklahoma, Mrs. Morris "Joan" Tarleston, Boxford, Mass. the two sons- in-law, six grandchildren and a sister Mrs. W.L. Chalfant. Others whose lives were enriched by their association with her and are saddened by the loss of one dear o them, are the beloved nieces and nephews and a host of friends. "To live in th hearts we leave behing, is not to die a good life does not end. Death is a doorway that opens into a larger room. It closes on the twelveth. It opens on the dawn." Interment Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
