The Rev Gilbert Skaar of the First Southern Baptist and Lloyd Bridges of the Church of Christ officiated. Committal was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Funston was born June 16, 1879 in Ohio and passed away at Medford, Oregon, Thursday, May 23, 1963, almost 84 years old. She was married February 4, 1902 to James Luther Funston in Independence,Missouri, who survies. They were early settlers at Reydon and old Rankin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Later moving to Allison, Texas for three years, then to Canyon, Texas, and last 11 months in Medford near their son, James. She leaves two sons, James Alfred Funston of Medord and Wayne Funston of Dixon, California; a daugher, Mrs. Lonnie Allen, Okinawa; a sister, Mrs. Lena Hann, Hardon, Missouri; a brother Fred Surbaguh, Richmond, Missouri; 14 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
