All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Ferris, Sprowls, Stephens, Hyer, Robson Mrs. Fred Ferris, a sister of Roy Sprowls of Cheyenne, was buried at Arnett, Oklahoma Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Ferris, the former Lois Sprowls, had suffered from a lung infection for many years. Recently she went ot St. Louis, Missouri where she underwent a lung operation. She rallied after the operation but lived only a few hours passing away at 12;0 Saturday morning, June 11, 1949. Mrs. Ferris was about forty-two years of age. Mrs. Ferris grew to womanhood near Cheyenne having been born and reared in the Square Top community. Later she taught in the Strong City schools. For many years she served as County Superintendent of Schools in Ellis County. During the past year she taught in the Arnett School. Other survivors besides her husband are one brother, Roy Sprowls, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and three sisters, Mrs. Dot Stephens, Elk City, Oklahoma; Mrs Editha Hyer, Britton, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Toyah Robson, of Seattle, Washington. Mrs. Ferris was a member of the Methodist church and of the Rebekah Lodge of Arnett, Oklahoma.
