The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Funeral services for Ruth Mae Ferguson were conducted Saturday March 18, 2000 at the Buffalo Memorial Funeral Home of Buffalo, Texas with Rev. Leroy Cooper officiating. Burial followed in the Buffalo Cemetery. Ruth was born July 27, 1925 at Reydon, Oklahoma to Henry and Minnie Harrison and died Wednesday, March 15, 2000 at her home in La Porte, Texas at the age of 74 years. She was raised on a farm near Reydon and attended school at Midway and later at Reydon, graduating in 1943. She attended college at Weatherford, Oklahoma and taught school at Hooker, Oklahoma. While teaching there, she met and married W.H. (Bill) Ferguson, who was in the Air Force at Liberal, Kansas. They made their home in San Antonio, Texas later moving to La Margue. Upon retirement they moved to a farm near Marque, Texas and lived there until the death of her husband. She then moved to L Porte, Texas to be near her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; and three brothers, Evert, Raymond and Stanley Harrison. Survivors include her daughters, Billye Scott of Bellaire, Texas and Kerry and her husband, Jeff Water of Pasadena, Texas; six grandchildren, Rodney Harris, Rhonda and Kenneth Young, Paul Scott, Jeremy Waters, Jason Waters and Kayla Waters; one great grandson, Corbin Young; one brother, Archie Harrison of Attica, Kansas; three sisters, Della Schmidt of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Marguerite Brownlow of Modesto, California and Henryetta Swartwood of Reydon, Oklahoma.
